About Florencia Ballester
I am a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). I work with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, offering a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space to explore emotional difficulties and life challenges.
I have experience supporting clients with a range of concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders, phobias, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, trauma-related difficulties, psychosis, relational challenges, anger, grief, and neurodivergence such as ADHD and ASD.
My work is informed by psychodynamic perspectives, with a focus on understanding emotional processes, attachment dynamics, and how past experiences can influence present ways of relating. In therapy, I support clients in reflecting on their relationships, emotional responses, and internal conflicts in order to develop greater self-awareness and understanding.
Alongside this insight-oriented approach, I integrate evidence-based therapies including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). This allows therapy to combine reflection and deeper understanding with practical tools to help manage distress and navigate everyday challenges.
I see therapy as a collaborative process and aim to support clients in developing greater self-understanding, emotional flexibility, and more intentional ways of relating to themselves and others. I offer therapy sessions in both English and Spanish.
