Contact usNo referral is needed to book a session with Mehema. However, if you'd like to access Medicare rebates, you'll need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. We can help guide you through that process.
It's simple — browse our practitioners, find someone who feels right, and book a time that works for you. If you're unsure where to start, our free intro call will help match you with the best fit based on your needs and preferences.
Your first session is about getting to know each other. Your practitioner will ask about what brought you here, your goals, and any background that helps them understand your situation. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with — it's a conversation, not an assessment.
Browse our team and filter by specialty, availability, or approach. Each practitioner has a detailed profile so you can find someone who feels right. If you're unsure, our free intro call will help match you with the best fit.
We do our best to minimise wait times. Most people can book their first session within a week. Availability varies by practitioner, so if your preferred time isn't available, we'll help you find an alternative.
At your scheduled time, you'll receive a secure link via email. Click it from any device — phone, tablet, or laptop — and you're in. No apps to download, no accounts to create. Just a private, encrypted video call with your practitioner.
Any device with a camera, microphone, and internet connection — phone, tablet, or laptop. Sessions run in your browser, so there's nothing to download. We recommend using headphones for privacy and a stable Wi-Fi connection for the best experience.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Some practitioners offer extended sessions for specific needs. Your practitioner will discuss the best format for you during your first appointment.
Yes. Research from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare and multiple peer-reviewed studies consistently show that telehealth delivers equivalent clinical outcomes to face-to-face sessions for most conditions, including anxiety, depression, and stress. For many people, the comfort of their own space actually helps them open up more freely.
Yes. While we encourage building a consistent relationship with one practitioner, we understand that sometimes the fit isn't right. You can switch at any time — no awkward conversations needed.
Session fees vary by practitioner. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate that significantly reduces the out-of-pocket cost. Many private health funds also cover psychology sessions — check with your provider for details.
Yes. Medicare rebates may apply if you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. Many private health insurers also cover psychology sessions — check with your provider for details. We provide receipts for all sessions.
A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is a document prepared by your GP that allows you to access Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions. Under the plan, you may be eligible for up to 10 sessions per calendar year with a reduced out-of-pocket cost. Ask your GP about getting one at your next visit.
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is processed securely at the time of booking. Receipts are emailed automatically after each session for your records or insurance claims.
Absolutely. All sessions use bank-grade encryption and are 100% confidential. Every Mehema practitioner is AHPRA-registered and bound by strict professional codes of ethics and privacy legislation.
No. Mehema sessions are never recorded. Your conversations are private and exist only between you and your practitioner. We take your privacy seriously — no recordings, no third-party access.

Your practitioner is trained to support you through difficult moments. If you're in immediate danger, they'll help you access emergency services. Outside of sessions, you can contact Lifeline (13 11 14), Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636), or 000 for emergencies.
Life happens — we get it. You can reschedule or cancel your appointment with at least 24 hours' notice at no charge. We want this to fit around your life, not add stress to it.
Our practitioners offer sessions across a range of hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Availability varies by practitioner, so you can find a time that fits your schedule — even if it's outside traditional business hours.
That depends on your needs and goals. Many people start with weekly sessions and adjust from there. Your practitioner will work with you to find a rhythm that supports your progress without feeling overwhelming.
Yes. Once you've found a time that works, you can set up a recurring booking so you don't have to reschedule each week. Your regular slot is held for you, making it one less thing to think about.
